Redesigned Neato Dirtbin
Redesigned Neato Dirtbin

Just over a month in development, is a redesigned dirtbin for the Neato. This is designed using the signature model, but will likely fit the XV series.
The redesign fixes many issues with the dirt bin that comes with the Neato, issues include:
- Poorly designed inlet that's prone to blockages,
- Poorly designed filter that clogs very quickly,
- Missing chamfer on the dirt outlet (Filter) making it slightly more difficult to empty the bin.
During my testing, dirt is been much more compressed (As seen in the pictures) and is virtually able to pickup more debris.
Printing setup:
I used Cura engine in repetier host, and the model is optimized for:
Shell thickness: 1.2mm
Top/Bottom thickness: 0.8mm
Infill: 20%
(My 3D printer)
Speed: 70mm/s 50 Jerk, 1000 Accel.
I'd recommend a hard plastic (Like PLA) so the tabs that click the bin in the Neato wears much slower.
Warning: Make sure your printer is calibrated! This model does contain tight tollerances.
After printing:
A Roomba 880 or 900 dirt bin filter is used as the filter, and 2mm think foam is used as the gasket for the inlet.
