There are two sets of parts.
Set A: For those intending to print a large figure as seamless as possible. Parts are bigger and it will require a longer time to print. Good for those with a printer with a large bed such as CR10s.
Set B: for those with smaller printers such as ender 5 or 3. Parts are smaller and are more manageable. This set also allows you to print an alternative head sculpt (without mask) which some may prefer.
What size? The parts may be quite small when imported into cura. In order to print at the intended/original size (1/4 scale - 18"/45cm) scale each part up to 770%. Some may prefer a smaller size to save PLA or just dont have the space to display a 1/4 figure. If you want a smaller model such as 1/6 (around 12"/30cm) or 1/8 (arund 8"/ 20cm) scale you can scale each part up to 513 % or 342% respectively . Alternativelly you can scale down to any size you want.
Base: due to how the base i was created in Zbrush the bottom is not completely flat so you may have adhesion issues. To avoid that you can bring the base sligly down (so the bottom is sligtly "under" the "bed" in cura. This way the bottom of the base will be completely flat. Brim is the best option for this part of the figure.
Printing Supports: Make sure you use a brim or rafts (primarely for the arms) for all the parts. Supports will be a necessary for several pieces, so try to find the best settings in your slicer so they’re easier to be removed (i like to use 1 or 2x my layer height) and it wont affect the details as much.
TIP Printing the Arms: Due to the nature of the hands position (fists are slightly open) it's easier to print the arms with the hands touching the bed while the flat part which will connect to the upper body is facing up. Essentially you will print the hands in the same position as you would connect them to the figure.
Scaling the model : You can scale the model up (or down) to any size you want though. If you want to print a large model, make sure you start with the legs (which is the tallest piece) and check what’s the maximum percentage your printer can print based on its print bed size. From there make sure all the subsequent pieces have the same percentage you used for the legs.
Layer Height: Ideally you should use a 0.12 layer height (or less) so the details can be preserved. I always print my figurs with a 0.08 layer height (i have a 0.4 nozzle).
Post-Printing:You will need superglue to join all the pieces together. Make sure you use a strong one such as Loctite all purposes superglue (gel had the best results in my trials) or any similar brand. Avoid epoxy as the parts will need to be clamped for a while in order to work (not an option here due to the nature of the model).
Sanding and priming: Sanding is ideal . Priming with a filler is also a good idea here if you intend to airbrush it or paint over it.
Painting (colour suggestions):
For those who intend to use a brush:
Bodysuit: Citadel Contrast – Leviadon Blue
Bracelet, Belt, bodysuit strips: Auric Armor Gold (if you’re after a metallic look) or Citadel Yriel Yellow (tradional non/ metallic look)
Visor: Citadel Stormhost Silver
Visor Beam area: Citadel mephiston red or citadel “blood for the blood Gods”.
Face: Citadel Kislev Flesh
Lips: Citadel Kislev Flesh with tiny amount of mephiston red.
Airbrushing (Paints I used in this model):
For those who intend to airbrush the figure:
Body: Minitaire Royal Blood blue (base), Minitaire royal blood blue+ tiny bit of white (highlights)
Face: Citadel Kislev Flesh
Lips: Citadel Cadian Fleshtone
Visor: Army Painter shinning Silver, Cidatel Mephiston Red (visor Beam)
Bracelet, Gold Details, Belt: Citadel Gehena’s Gold
