Ultimate Dice Tower
Published 2024-06-06T14:36:52+00:00
This is an extremely over engineered dice tower that fullfills a lot of requirements that other dice towers I've tried haven't fullfilled for me.
- It's designed to be printed without supports
- You can roll many dice simultaneously and easily
- It's satisfying to use (I like the noise dice make going down the stairs)
- It has an area to store dice and keep them contained
- Rolls with the tower aren't biased towards a cluster of numbers on the die
The downside of this is that it is a bit bulky, but I don't think it's unreasonably so. Typically, when I print it I use about 160g of filament at 5% infill at .2mm layers. It typically prints in a little less than 8 hours on my p1s with these settings.
While you can scale down the model, I've never personally tested it so I can't guarantee it will work properly, as the dice gain a lot of momentum. Dice flying was one of the big reasons this took so many iterations :(
This is my first publically available model, and I'm still an amateur, so feedback is welcome.
I've also included my original fusion360 file should anyone wish to make changes directly to the original model. I intend this to be a fully open source model for people to do as they wish, although I'd prefer people don't sell it.
Anyway whoowhoo heehee have a good day and drink water
Reccomended print settings
- .2mm layers
- 5% infill
- 100% scale
